Twitter: Gold Checkmarks And Twitter Blue

Twitter has announced that Twitter Blue is back

Twitter Blue sign-ups are now available for iOS and web. With this subscription, you’ll get exclusive access to features such as Edit Tweet, 1080p video uploads and reader mode. And, once your account is reviewed to make sure it meets Twitter’s requirements, including the rules against impersonation, you’ll receive a blue checkmark.

Twitter Blue is $8/month on web and $11/month on iOS. Once you sign up on one platform, you’ll have access to it on all supported platforms, including iOS, Android, and web. For those who are already subscribed to Twitter Blue, don’t worry – you can upgrade, cancel or auto-renew your subscription at the new price. Note that prices may vary depending on the region. Twitter plans to offer subscriptions on Android soon.

Right now, Twitter Blue is available in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. More countries will be added soon. To help prevent impersonation, Twitter is also taking several steps such as reviewing all accounts at sign up and temporarily removing the blue checkmark for subscribers who change their profile information. Accounts created in the last 90 days, inactive accounts, accounts without a verified phone number, and accounts with recent changes to their profile information won’t be able to subscribe to Twitter Blue at this time.

Gold checkmarks and more updates

In addition to these changes, Twitter is also replacing the “official” label with a gold checkmark on some business accounts on Twitter. Soon, Twitter will also add a gray checkmark for government and multilateral accounts. To learn more about profile labels on Twitter, check out Twitter’s website.
