YouTube’s New Tricks: Courses, Shopping, and AI Tags, Oh My!
YouTube is giving creators even more ways to earn and engage with their audiences! Here’s what’s new:
Courses Get a Wider Release
YouTube is expanding access to its Courses feature, which allows creators to offer both free and paid learning programs directly on their channels. Launched in beta back in 2022, Courses let creators design educational content tailored to their audience, helping to keep viewers engaged while adding a new revenue stream.
Now, more creators can launch Courses through YouTube Studio, where they can tag playlists as courses. These playlists will feature a special course badge and appear in a dedicated tab on your channel, making them easier for viewers to find.
But that’s not all—creators can also include quizzes tied to specific videos and set up a Discussion section for more in-depth conversations with their audience. And when viewers complete a course, they’ll earn a badge to display in their “You” tab.
Want to charge for your courses? You can do that too! YouTube is rolling out this option to more creators starting this week.

Enhanced Live Shopping Displays
For those who love to sell while they stream, YouTube is upgrading its Live Shopping experience. Creators can now pin multiple products during their live broadcasts, with items rotating every 60 seconds. It’s a simple but effective way to showcase more products and keep the shopping experience dynamic.

AI Labels on the Go
In March, YouTube introduced new rules for AI content disclosures to keep things transparent when AI tools are used to create videos. Initially, these labels could only be added via YouTube Studio desktop, but now, creators can add them directly from their mobile devices during the upload process.

These updates from YouTube are all about giving creators more tools and opportunities to connect, create, and cash in. Keep an eye out for these new features as they roll out!
